Job Description - Cashier
Reporting to - Credit Manager
Purpose of Job
To ensure all cash, cheque, and BACS payments are posted to the designated accounts in a quick and efficient manner and to administer the credit card portion of the Sales Ledger
Main Duties
To prepare daily banking and post all payments to the bank system on Navision
To bank all cheques received in office in a timely manner, ensuring within banking hours on a daily basis.
To ensure that cash is balanced daily
To run daily unallocated cash report and contact customers for remittance advise where necessary
To record all summary details of all contacts with Customers
To process any credit held orders and contact sales/customers where necessary
To prepare accounts for review by Management when required
To process credit notes and journal adjustments as necessary
To chase any cash with order account, that has an outstanding balance, for payment
To investigate and process customer refunds to be signed off
To ensure Invoices are generated on a daily basis and sent to customers
To ensure statements are run at month end and issued to customers
To cover holiday periods and assist with any department needs as and when necessary
To keep the remittance file up to date
To carry out other tasks as detailed by the Credit Manager.
